Ben and Chris did a superb job installing the stair rails, newel posts, and balusters. They are precise with the measurements and offer valuable insights regarding unique stair rail arrangements. I highly recommend them to do your stair rail installation.

After 31 years, it was time to do a more complete renovation and update of the interior spaces of our home. The traditional carpeted stairs with the traditional turned white wooden newell posts and ballisters, and the bread loaf style of handrail were in past need of attention. We solicited quotations from two contractors that both listed over a decade of experience specializing in staircase construction and repair as well as having superior online reviews. Ultimately, we selected Crown Rail. In addition to quoting a more competitive price, Crown Rail’s scope of services appeared more detailed, fit better with the existing design of the house, and at the same time would bring the handrail into meeting the current building code. We were given a tentative start date about a month out and Crown Rail was able to move that date up and start four days early. Chris and Ben completed the installation and did an excellent job. The overall quality and workmanship of the work was exceptional. The joints were all tight and the stairs didn’t squeak Chris and Ben were always conversive, patiently answered any questions that we had, and routinely engaged us during the process to ensure that our expectations were being met. As a retired Licensed Construction Contractor and Project Manager, I highly recommend Crown Rail for your staircase needs.

Michael and his installers, Chris and Ben, installed a handrail, and replaced an old newel post, balusters, and baluster rail for the main stairs at the front door hall in my old plaster and lathe house. Michael was very helpful in helping me pick out the design and communicating with me to schedule delivery and installation. He has 40 years of experience and excellent customer relations. Chris and Ben are engaging young men with excellent carpentry skills and experience working with plaster and lathe. They were pleasant men to have in my house as they worked. The Installation was efficiently completed and they cleaned up very well. The outcome gives a fine, finished look to my home’s entrance that fits with the style of my house. We had a fantastic experience with Royal Handrail and Stair Co. They removed three drywall halfwalls from our stairway and replaced them with beautiful wood railing and metal balusters. They also replaced our carpeted stairs with custom treads. Michael was on the ball and was able to get us scheduled very quickly at a fair price. Chris and Ben did amazing work. They were fast, efficient, precise and extremely professional. These guys are the best. I can’t recommend them enough.

From the start, Michael and his team were responsive and engaged. It was a big project and they brought creativity, gorgeous design ideas and even ideas on how to coral our cats during the staining process. Michael coordinated everything for painting, staining etc. Pricing was very competitive!
Chris and Ben were great to deal with on a daily basis during the job. They were respectful of our home, kept things neat and always kept me informed of things going on.
Project delays in the beginning out of Michael’s control pushed our date back a bit but he kept me informed all the way through.
