After 31 years, it was time to do a more complete renovation and update of the interior spaces of our home. The traditional carpeted stairs with the traditional turned white wooden newell posts and ballisters, and the bread loaf style of handrail were in past need of attention. We solicited quotations from two contractors that both listed over a decade of experience specializing in staircase construction and repair as well as having superior online reviews. Michael and his installers, Chris and Ben, installed a handrail, and replaced an old newel post, balusters, and baluster rail for the main stairs at the front door hall in my old plaster and lathe house.
